Doors Open Days - Inverness - 06 September 2008Doors Open Day, which is a joint initiative between the Council of Europe and the European Union, aims to give people the opportunity to explore some of Europe’s most interesting buildings, many of which are not normally accessible to the public. In 1990, it was piloted in Scotland and since then, Doors Open Days, which is Scotland’s contribution to European Heritage Days, have become an annual event across the country, co-ordinated by the Scottish Civic Trust and supported by Historic Scotland. If you have ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of buildings you see every day, then this is your chance to find out. Throughout the month of September, buildings all over the Highlands will be open free of charge. Doors Open Day will take place in Inverness on Saturday 06 September 2008.
